It sounded like a great idea ten years ago. Now it is cracked, green, and taking up half the deck. Every homeowner in Queen Anne, Ballard, and West Seattle has the same story — the hot tub that nobody uses anymore but nobody wants to deal with removing.
Junk B Gone has been removing hot tubs across Seattle since 1989. We have taken out hundreds of them — freestanding Jacuzzis on patios, built-ins sunk into cedar decks, and swim spas that weigh more than a compact car. We bring the crew, the saws, and the truck.
Call us at (206) 722-4285 or text us a photo for a quick quote — we will get back to you in 15 minutes or less.
Every job is different. Our minimum is $99. We quote on-site — no surprises.
We have cut apart hot tubs wedged between a house and a fence with 30 inches of clearance. We have pulled built-ins out of cedar decks on Mercer Island and patched the hole with plywood so nobody falls through. We have hauled 800-pound swim spas out of Magnolia backyards where the only access was a staircase down a hillside.
After we remove it, the shell gets separated from the foam insulation. Metal pumps and copper wiring go to scrap recycling. The acrylic shell gets processed separately. Nothing sits in your yard — we clean the site and haul every piece.
Three things to know before we arrive:
Freestanding, built-in, swim spas — we have seen them all. Here is what Seattle homeowners call us for:
The most common type. Usually 300-500 lbs, sitting on a patio or deck. We tip, dolly, and load — or cut if it will not fit through the gate.
Sunk into a deck or patio surround. We disconnect, extract from the frame, and patch the hole with plywood.
Much larger than standard hot tubs. 800+ lbs. We almost always cut these into sections rather than use a crane.
Jacuzzi, Caldera, Hot Spring, Sundance, Master Spas — we have removed every brand made.
Intex, Bestway, Coleman — these are lighter but still bulky. We deflate, drain, and haul.
Wooden barrel-style tubs. These come apart in staves. We disassemble and haul the wood.
Waterlogged covers can weigh 200+ lbs. We take the cover along with the tub.
Concrete pads, foam bases, gravel beds. We can remove the base too if you want a clean slate.
We disconnect at the tub. For main panel work, we recommend a licensed electrician — we will tell you upfront.
We specialize in manual disassembly. This saves Seattle homeowners $1,500+ compared to crane rental — and we can usually get the job done in 2-3 hours.
We do not just haul the tub. We clean up foam, screws, wood fragments, and debris. Your yard or deck looks like nothing was ever there.

Last month we removed a 1997 Sundance spa from a backyard in Wallingford. The gate was 28 inches wide, the tub weighed 450 pounds, and the homeowner was convinced we would need a crane. We had it cut into sections and loaded in under two hours — no crane, no damage to the fence, and we patched the deck where it sat.
We are not a franchise with an 800 number. We are your neighbors — a local Seattle company since 1989 with the same crews you will see every time. Our pricing is transparent: the quote covers disconnection, disassembly, hauling, and site cleanup. No surprise fees if the tub turns out to be heavier than expected.

Hot tub removal usually comes with other stuff. When we are already there with the truck:
If it came with the hot tub or sits near it, we will take it. Call (206) 722-4285 or text us a photo for a quick quote.
Most junk removal companies show up with a trailer hitched to a pickup or a small 10-yard dump truck. Our fleet runs full-size 20-yard trucks with a 16×12-foot bed — 60% more room than the competition.
More capacity means your whole project fits in one load. No second trip charges, no "we'll have to come back tomorrow." You get the same work done for less.
Our minimum is $99. Every job is quoted on-site before we start — the number we give you is the number you pay. No hidden fees. Call (206) 722-4285 or text us a photo for a free estimate.
Almost never. We specialize in manual disassembly with reciprocating saws. This saves you $1,500+ compared to crane rental and is faster for most Seattle yards.
Most jobs take 2–3 hours from arrival to cleanup. Larger swim spas or complex built-ins may take 3–4 hours.
Ideally yes — drain into a sewer cleanout, not your yard. If you cannot drain it, we will handle it on-site. Just flip the breaker at the sub-panel before we arrive.
We separate the acrylic shell from the foam insulation and metal components. Copper wiring and pumps go to scrap recycling. The shell is processed separately. We recycle as much as possible.
That is our specialty. We have removed tubs through 28-inch gates, off hillside decks, and from backyards with no vehicle access. If it got in there somehow, we can get it out.
